Are you ready to submit? Let’s do this!
Submission update: I don’t have any new pieces to submit (I’ve been incredibly distracted with life, the universe and everything), so today I will be submitting 2 older pieces (It’s time to get back on that horse!). I still have 12 pending responses in my queue and so far in February I’ve received 4 rejections.
Today I will submit 2 pieces to 6 markets.
How about you? Leave a comment below if you were able to submit your writing today. We will celebrate together!
Don’t Let Rejection Stop You
Hey there, fellow writers! Let's talk about something that's probably hit close to home for many of us: rejection. Yep, it's like the unavoidable pit stop on the road to getting published. But here's the thing: getting those rejection letters shouldn't be the end of your writing journey. In fact, it's just a little bump in the road, and here's why you should keep truckin' along:
**Don't Give Up, Keep Pushing**: Persistence is key, my friend. Just because one editor or agent didn't bite doesn't mean the next one won't. Keep sending out your work, keep hustling, and eventually, you'll hit that sweet spot.
**It's All About Taste**: Publishing is subjective, plain and simple. What one person loves, another might not vibe with at all. So, if your work gets the thumbs-down, don't take it to heart. It's all about finding the right fit.
**Savor the Success**: Trust me, there's nothing sweeter than finally getting that acceptance after wading through a sea of rejections. It's like a victory lap for all the hard work and perseverance you've put in.
Remember, even best-selling authors had their fair share of rejection letters.
So, fellow writers, don't let those rejection letters get you down. Keep writing, keep submitting, and keep chasing those dreams. After all, the road to success is paved with rejection letters—they're just proof that you're putting yourself out there. And who knows? The next submission might just be the one that lands you that publishing deal. So, keep on writing, my friend. You got this!
Not sure where to submit?
Why not try a themed submission? Maybe you have a piece of writing that has been sitting in your desk drawer for a while that could fit a theme? Maybe you could revise it a bit and it would be perfect? These LitMags are calling for themed submissions:
The Parliament Literary Journal - Theme: “WTF?!?” (Which is just awesome btw!)
OR… if you don’t have a piece that will fit a theme… why not submit something to one of these journals (and, bonus…these Mags don’t charge submission fees - so what have you got to lose?):
If you didn’t have anything ready to submit today, no worries… we will submit our work again on Sunday, March 17th. If you aren’t quite sure how to get started or are dreading the idea of submitting on your own, join me over at Centered, an incredible community of generous and supportive writers, and we will nurture our writing practice together.
Happy Writing!
So fun sharing Submission Sunday with you and the other writer friends . What a wonderful circle we have !!
